Body Geometry
The three-dimensional measurement of a person's body used to predict how fabric will drape, stretch, and fit. In denim analysis, we focus on seat projection, waist circumference, and hip-to-waist differential.
Projection Depth (PD)
The forward distance from the waist plane to the furthest point on the seat. Measured in inches or centimeters. This is a primary input for predicting how a jean's rise and seat will fit.
Curvature Radius Profile (CRP)
A series of measurements describing how the seat surface curves at different angles. Helps identify asymmetric or non-standard body shapes that standard patterns may not accommodate.
Tension Distribution Index (TDI)
A score measuring how evenly fabric tension is distributed across the seat and yoke of a jean. Higher scores indicate more uniform fit with fewer stress points.
Zero-Gap Compliance (ZGC)
A pass/fail metric indicating whether the waistband maintains contact with the waist without visible gapping or sliding when seated.
Motion Stability Score (MSS)
A measure of how well a predicted fit holds across common movements: walking, sitting, squatting, and reaching. Higher scores indicate better everyday wearability.
Shrink-To-Fit (STF)
A type of raw denim that shrinks and molds to the wearer's body after washing. The amount of shrinkage varies based on body geometry, fabric composition, and washing method. Our lab predicts post-shrink fit behavior.
Master Mold
A canonical 3D reference model built from aggregated, validated geometry data. New user geometries are mapped against this mold to compute fit scores, shrinkage predictions, and pattern compatibility.
Confidence Score (CUS)
A 0–1 score indicating how reliable a given analysis result is. Based on image quality, pose coverage, and model agreement. Low confidence scores trigger warnings and recommendations to re-upload.
Composite Score
A normalized 0–100 score derived from four primary metrics: Geometry Fidelity, Projection Depth, Tension Distribution, and Motion Stability. Higher scores indicate better predicted fit. Weights are documented and versioned.
